Educational Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Flamenco Masterclass with Spanish dancer and choreographer Sonia Franco on November 1st, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Westchester Cultural Arts Center.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n About the show<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n SER.RANA<\/em> is an omen.It is an experience that transforms movement and releases the desire to dance, like water that cannot be contained, like the flow of the river that you have inside you and does not cease, transforming your body through flamenco while you travel through impossible scenario…like the frogs that get lost outside their pond.<\/p>\n With original music created for this trip, flamenco is at the service of the movement and connects directly with the viewer through a minimalist aesthetic. He is part of Sara Baras’ CIA, in the show \u201cSombras\u201d with a world tour: Flamenco Festival New York, Miami, London, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Melbourne, Japan, Hong Kong, Poland, Switzerland, Cervantino Festival of Mexico, Chile , Brazil, Argentina and Washington. In 2017 he worked on the film \u201cThe Man Who Wanted to Kill Don Quixote\u201d directed by Terry Gilliam. In 2013 he joined Mar\u00eda Pag\u00e9s’ CIA with the world tour of the show \u201cYo Carmen\u201d and \u201c7 Golpes y un Camino\u201d touring Montmarsall, Lyon, Moscow, Tokyo, Jerez Festival, Singapore and the Seville Biennial. In 2015 he joined Pedro C\u00f3rdoba’s CIA to dance at the prestigious Japanese tablao \u201cEl Flamenco\u201d. He collaborates with Carlos Chamorro’s CIA Malucos Danza with the show \u201cSED\u201d premiered at the Tel Aviv Flamenco Festival. Creator and performer of the piece \u201cSer.Rana\u201d in the renowned Choreographic Competition of Spanish Dance and Flamenco in Madrid, receiving the \u201cFlamenco Vivo Carlota Santana New York\u201d award that grants the opportunity to choreograph to the prestigious CIA Carlota Santana and enter the New York dance community. He also receives the Daniel Do\u00f1a Artistic Residency Award and best original music from the Tetu\u00e1n District Choreographic Contest. Currently he continues to teach workshops such as \u201cThe Words of the Body\u201d, \u201cThe Pleasure of Acting\u201d with Ra\u00fal Beatmac at the National Stage Training Conference in Cuenca and \u201cFlamenco y Creaci\u00f3n\u201d in New York.
