The ZunZ\u00fan Children\u2019s Festival celebrates annually with the family and the youngest audiences a varied program of bilingual projects that brings together local and visiting artists to promote the appreciation of universal culture and the values of \u201cHispanidad\u201d. This year we celebrate its 12th anniversary with a double bill event featuring: <\/p>\n FUNDarte and Miami Dade County Auditorium Away From Home Series is proud to present the 12th edition of ZunZ\u00fan Children’s Fest on October 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Miami Beach Bandshell, featuring a double bill event celebrating the Afro-Caribbean and Latin jazz tradition.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Love Is A Verb<\/span><\/b><\/em> by Inez Barlatier (Miami)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Love Is A Verb<\/span><\/em> is a children’s concert with songs about receiving and giving love, written and performed by Inez Barlatier as Tati Nuzi & Friends, and commissioned by Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Tati Nuzi’s family is from Ayiti (Haiti), and they taught her to use music as a universal language to connect with people from all over the world. Her trio, featuring guitar, piano, and drums, invites audiences to sing, dance, and share loving energy together.<\/span><\/p>\n Inez Barlatier is an Ayisyen-American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor with over two decades of performance history. Her children’s show AYITI: Stories & Songs from Haiti<\/em> has educated more than 100,000 children and families across the Americas through interactive singing, drumming, dancing, and storytelling. Her work has been featured on CBS 4, NBC 6, PBS, NPR, and WLRN, among others. In 2024, the mayor of North Miami proclaimed May 31st as Inez Barlatier Day.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Con Alma y Fuego<\/span><\/b><\/em> by Jazz Reach (New York)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Targeting students in grades 4 through 12, Con Alma y Fuego<\/em> is an infectiously grooving live production that traverses the origins and evolution of Afro-Caribbean and Latin jazz, highlighting the contributions of groundbreaking artists including Mario Bauza, Machito, Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Irakere, Eddie Palmieri, and Fort Apache, among others.
