FUNDarte in collaboration with The Miami Dade County Auditorium presents in Miami Flamenco(s) de Plomo y Cobre/ Flamenco(s) of Lead and Copper, the latest production of Casa Patas, the oldest flamenco tablao of Madrid (Spain). The work features some of Spain’s hottest and most promising Flamenco performers. The production will be presented at On.Stage Black.Box Theater at Miami Dade County Auditorium (2901 W Flagler St., Miami, FL 33135) on November 9, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
As performers, the sensual and versatile dancer Mariana Collado and electrifying choreographer and dancer Carlos Chamorro play off of one another with a visual intensity and complexity that reinvents this highly passionate art form, thrilling both the seasoned aficionado and novices to the Flamenco form. De Plomo y Cobre/Of Lead and Copper bring their unique blend of contemporary sensibilities to this venerated cultural tradition in Casa Patas’.
Alongside with the performance, on Monday, November 10, from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. Mariana Collado and members of the company will carry-out a whorkshop for Flamenco professional dancers, at On.Stage Black.Box Theater at Miami Dade County Auditorium. The Casa Patas Flamenco Foundation and Conservatory was founded in the year 2000 with the aim of conserving all activities related to Flamenco (singing, guitar playing and dancing) under one roof, thereby creating a resource center where teaching, research and information on the art form and its many manifestations would be disseminated.
