FUNDarte and Miami Light Project present Global Cuba Fest 2026.

Co-funded with Miami Light Project 18 years ago, Global Cuba Fest is a highly anticipated series featuring the most popular and innovative artists from Cuba and across the Cuban diaspora. This year, we are pleased to announce the presence of Yusa & Friends on March 21st at 8:00 p.m. at the Miami Beach Bandshell; accompanied by musicians from New Orleans: David Navarro, Marina Albero, and Martin Masakowski; and from Miami: Yissy García and Roberto Vizcaíno.

In Yusa’s music, we are all travelers. Each song follows an invisible thread—one that binds memory, rhythm, doubt, love, and becoming. Her voice does not rush toward destinations; it walks with intention, attentive to each step, each silence, each turn of the road. The thread may twist, but it never breaks.

Now based in New Orleans, Yusa brings Havana’s original sound to Miami Beach in a perfect triangle of traditions and cultural backgrounds where Cuban and American heritage meet. World of Rhythms promises an extraordinary night of exceptional musicianship as Yusa and her talented friends create music that knows no borders—traversing from jazz to cha-cha-chá, from blues to timba.

Rooted in Cuba yet open to the world, Yusa weaves jazz, song, poetry, and everyday life into music that feels deeply lived. Her stories speak of letting go of the past, shifting perspective, waiting, forgiving, and choosing authenticity over illusion. There are no shortcuts here—only presence, listening, and the courage to keep moving forward.

Yusa is an acclaimed Cuban singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose work bridges traditional Cuban music with contemporary global influences. Born and raised in Havana, she has released a celebrated body of work that includes Yusa, Breathe, and Haiku, earning major recognition such as a Cubadisco Award and nominations from the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards. A key member of the influential Cuban collective Interactivo, Yusa now resides in New Orleans, where she continues to collaborate internationally while expanding the reach of Cuban music worldwide.
